Reminder Regarding Saturday Holiday Agreement

Independence Day falls on a Saturday this year, and becasue of that, we want to remind members of the "Saturday Holiday" MOA we signed with the state in October 2008. The gist of the new language is provided below, but we recommend that you read the entire MOA for the complete language.
"All offices under the jurisdiction of any department of state government shall be open to the public for business on the Friday preceding and Saturday holiday. As many employees as possible should be given the preceding Friday or following Monday of that Saturdayholiday off. However, employees who work botht he preceding Friday and following MOnday may earn a compensatory day to be taken at a time approved by the agency head within 60 days of the Saturday holiday."
