Herald Opinion: Brought to You by AAA

The Boston Herald today published an opinion piece that reads like a paid advertisement for the AAA. (With ad revenue from the usual sources plummeting, maybe nothing's sacred and everything's for sale.) Read the opinion piece.

In its piece, the Herald editorial board repeats President David Holway's assertion that it's improper to direct state business to one company in a nearly no-bid process with no evidence that taxpayers will benefit. Makes sense, no?

Apparently not to the Herald. Instead of refuting Holway's claim and providing evidence of taxpayer benefits and greater efficiencies, the editorial board turns to the example of Rhode Island, where, according to the AAA, the AAA-RMV program has been welcomed in that state.

Imagine that, the AAA reporting success ...
